Subtitling

Since the implementation of the Disability Discrimination Act of 2005, it has become good practice for recorded media such as DVDs and the like, to be subtitled. This not only benefits Deaf and hard of hearing people, but also can be invaluable to viewers who do not have English as a first language.

Language subtitling is the translation and condensed interpretation of on-screen dialogue displayed as text and overlaid onto media. As with any language translation, it is an art. While professionally made subtitles will hardly be noticed by the viewer, poorly produced subtitles will make any viewer lose interest or even switch off.

At Noteable, we offer a comprehensive subtitling service

Existing media
Appreciating the cost involved in having to produce a new DVD, we are able to subtitle existing media. Many of the existing DVDs we subtitle are client's in-house instructional and training presentations. We can also liaise with external companies to seek permission to subtitle a particular DVD for a client.

New recordings/presentations
We will work with clients to provide a professional sub-titling service for any new short films or presentations that are currently being worked on.

On-line
We will professionally subtitle existing on-line material and also, work with clients to ensure that subtitles are included in new presentations/productions.
